Butt-covering 101

Source: Hudson/St. Lazare Gazette
Editorial

Sixteen months after receiving the green light from Quebec to build a new off-island elementary school, the Lester B. Pearson School Board still hasn’t found a suitable site.
Instead, the LBPSB brain trust is now proposing to bus kids all over the county until the new school is finally constructed.
When enraged Pierre Elliott Trudeau Elementary parents call to complain, they’re told to call Vaudreuil-Dorion mayor Guy Pilon. This blame game is both childish and futile. The record shows the LBPSB failed to take the steps required to build a new school in time to avert a crisis.
Busing is not a solution. Busing is an admission of failure. The only expertise the Lester B. Pearson School Board appears to have mastered is butt-covering.

Apparently they are starting to use three ply.

What about civil disobedience? Like holding back on school taxes.

It is very clear that the LBPSB has had trouble with building new schools in the off island region since its formation 10 years ago. Reason: They are unwilling to listen to people who know their region best. Then turning their own failure to produce and their own incompetence into a linguistic issue is nothing more than mal intent. A school board which publicly declares to improve French education for its schools but which then uses the linguistic trump card, when it can’t close a land deal with the major of Vaudreuil_Dorion, is offensive and distasteful.
